Solutions to leaks in glass lined reactors
The shaft sealing device of the glass lined reactor is divided into two types: mechanical seal and packing seal. Their function is to prevent fluid leakage. If there is a leak in the seal, it will undoubtedly affect production. The leakage causes and solutions of the two sealing methods used in the reactor are different, so we need to explain them separately:
One, packing seal
1. The stirring shaft of the reactor is worn or corroded at the packing or the stirring shaft is eccentric, causing the gap to be too large. Solution: Replace or repair the mixing shaft and process it on the machine tool to ensure fineness. Adjust the center or positioning device of the stirring shaft to ensure concentricity.
2. The oil ring at the seal of the glass lined reactor is improperly positioned or the oil circuit is blocked, and the oil seal cannot be formed. Solution: Adjust the position of the oil ring and clean the oil circuit.
3. The gland of the reactor is not tightly pressed, the quality of the packing is poor or the use time is long. Solution: Tighten the packing gland or replace the packing.
4. The stuffing box is corroded. Solution: repair or replace the stuffing box.
2. Mechanical seal
1. The end faces of the dynamic and static rings of the glass lined reactor are deformed and bruised. Solution: Replace the friction surface or re-grind.
2. The end surface specific pressure is too large, and the friction surface is thermally deformed. Solution: Adjust the specific pressure appropriately, strengthen the cooling system, and take away heat in time.
3. The material of the sealing ring in the mechanical seal of the reactor is not correct, the pressing force is not enough, or the V-shaped sealing ring is installed reversely, and the sealing performance is lost. Solution: Choose the material of the sealing ring, install it reasonably, and have sufficient pressing force.
4. The vertical error between the axis of the reactor and the end face of the static ring is too large. Solution: Stop the machine and realign it to ensure that the non-verticality is less than 0.5mm.

If there is a problem of sealing leakage in the reactor, the leakage point should be recorded and repaired in time to ensure that the leakage of the equipment will not be further expanded, thereby affecting the safety of production.
